Hank's Hushpuppies


Instructions

Mix meal, flour, salt, pepper, garlic salt, and oregano in a double Public Shopping bag, used to meal all fish being cooked by placing several pieces of fish in bag and shaking. Chop onion, tomato, and bell pepper. Chop each finely and mix with remaining meal. Add beer of your choice and mix to consistency for spooning. Deep fry in the same oil used to cook the fish. Cook at 325-350º. Serve with fish, cheese grits, tossed salad, deep fried sliced sweet potato, and deep fried sliced or french fried potatoes.

  • 1 cup of finely ground cornmeal
  • 1 cup of self-rising flour
  • 1 tbsp. garlic salt
  • 1 tbsp. of black pepper
  • 2 tbsp. of salt
  • dash of oregano
  • 1 medium-sized bell pepper
  • 1 medium-sized onion
  • 1 medium-sized tomato
